Aims/Activities

To support young people’s education, personal development and welfare through adolescence.


Youth centres offer a wide range of opportunities for informal learning ranging from physical activities, drama, dance and music making to the chance to gain useful practical skills or to explore important issues relevant to them. 

Some activities can lead to accreditation and achievement via informal learning schemes like the Youth Achievement Award, Cornwall Award and Duke of Edinburgh's Award. 

Some centres will offer opportunities to explore other cultures and broaden experience through international travel or visiting other youth projects elsewhere in Britain.  The youth work programme will vary because it is driven by the interests of young people.

Some will offer tailored provision targeted at specific groups such as young parents, young people not in education, employment or training.

  • 13-19 Years old
CENTRE OPENING TIMES:

Mondays 6:30-9:00pm (CYMAZ)
Wednesdays 3:15-9:00pm (CYMAZ 3:15-6:00pm)
Thursdays 3:15-9:00pm

FREESTYLE OPENING TIMES:

Monday 10:00-4:00pm
Tuesday 10:00-4:00pm

ACTIVITIES:

A range of youth work activities including:

  • Special groups for boys and girls
  • Skateboard park
  • Arts workshops
  • Cookery workshops
